Drinks-100 percent juice.  Apple juice or other real juices would be great.  (Grape or dark juice might stain clothing.)

The Me Bag-It is a bag the leader takes home.  They put something in it that is special to them and bring it back to school and share it with the class.

Things students usually bring are toys, books, pictures, etc..(Show-N-Tell)

Breakfast-If your child is eating breakfast, they should arrive at least 15 minutes before the tardy bell.  This allows them time to eat.  They need to check in at their classroom 1st, then go to breakfast.

Friday Folders-We will send a folder home on Friday with all your child’s work from the week in it.  Please sign and return the folder on Monday.

Rest Items-Towels or blankets will be sent home on Friday.  Please return on Monday.

Clothing-We do painting and a lot of messy projects.  We try to take precautions by wearing smocks, but they don’t always protect our clothing.

We also sit on a rug on the floor for Circle time.  Please make sure your child’s clothes are comfortable for sitting.

Playground-We go outside even when it is cold.  Please make sure they are dressed for the weather.  (hats,  gloves, heavy coats)

Money-If you send money to school, please put it in a Ziploc or an envelope and with child’s name and label what it is for.  It also should be exact change.

Book Orders-Book orders will be offered throughout the year.  Please

Make checks out to FLOWER MOUND SCHOOL.

Goody Day-PTO offers a Goody Day usually once a month.

Students are able to purchase snacks and drinks.  The order forms are usually sent home in the Friday Folder and you return the order form with money by the following Wednesday. They are delivered on Friday at the end of the school day, and are taken home.

Items for our Treasure Chest-Dollar store toys are great or toys you get at McDonalds.  Boys love hot wheels cars and girls love hair clips or bracelets.

Pre-K Behavior Plan

Behavior Plan-We use color bears for behavior in Pre-K.  A color bear will be sent home everyday in your child’s back-pack.

GREEN BEAR- Means your child had a good day.

Please leave bear in back pack.

YELLOW BEAR-Means your child had a little trouble following the rules.

It will have a note explaining what your child did to earn a yellow bear.

(Things to get a yellow bear would be:  playing in the restroom or hall, not keeping hands to themselves, being rude to others)                                      We tell them we all make mistakes.

RED BEAR-Means your child had a hard time making good choices.

It will have a note explaining what your child did to earn a red bear.

(Things to get a red bear would be:  hitting, pushing, repeated refusal to do what they were asked to do, throwing fits)

We try to be very patient with student’s behavior.  They are warned about behaviors that would get them a yellow or red bear.  They usually have had several chances before they get a yellow or red bear.  We try to stress that we are all responsible for the choices we make.  We tell the students that we (the teachers) can even get yellow or red bears from Mr.Trent if we make bad choices.

Extreme cases we will send to Mr. Trent.

TREASURE CHEST-When your child gets 5 green bears, they will get to go to our treasure chest.  They can choose reward coupons (sit by the teacher, sit by a friend, bring a stuffed animal, etc…) stickers, small toys, books, pencils, etc…

Please return the bear to school each day.
