Virtual students are welcome to attend Flower Mound School's inflatable day on May 13. The virtual students will travel as a group with Mrs. Leighow or Mrs. Trent. Students are encouraged to bring a small bag to store belongings, an extra change of clothes, money for concessions (optional), and sunscreen. Email or send us a message as soon as possible if your child will be participating. We need to know by Wednesday, April 21 if they will be at inflatable's day. No parents can come at this time.


Here is the tentative schedule:

See the directions below about the assignment for the google meet on Thursday, April 29.

Have your child create an art project to orally share at the google meet. Parental involvement is always encouraged, but the child needs to complete the project so he/she can explain. Some ideas are to color or paint a picture on a sheet of paper, cut and glue construction paper pieces to make a treasure, use stickers to create a picture, use clay or playdough to create a 3D item, etc… The art project can be as elaborate as you would like.

PreK-Kinder-Explain the art project, what materials you used, and why you chose to make that project.
1st-2nd-Write 2 complete sentences explaining your art project.

April 22 is Earth Day! Do something good for the environment! It could be planting a flower, picking up trash, riding a bike, etc. 


Kinder, 1st, 2nd-Write at least 2 sentences about what you did to help the environment. If you aren’t able to do anything, then write at least 2 sentences about how you COULD help the environment. Include a craft to go along with Earth Day. I have included some examples or you can do something on your own. You will be graded on having 2 complete sentences and including a craft.
PreK-You don't need to do sentences.  Just take a picture of something you did to help the Earth, submit a picture of that or a craft you completed for Earth day. 

I would LOVE to see pictures of the kids and what they are doing to help the Earth!

** Last year, I created a trash monster using recycled trash. I posted an example of my trash monster. I even wrote a story about him that I included as well!

Another idea for the craft component: Create a poster for Earth day and include a snappy slogan that will encourage more people to protect Earth.

Thursday, February 11th is our 100th day of school! For our Google Meet, you can dress like you are 100 years old! (You do not have to dress up, but you can if you would like to!)

You are to create a 100th day of school project. Simply display 100 items (buttons, stickers, googly eyes, etc.) on a small piece of poster board or card stock. We have attached some examples. Be ready to share your 100th day of school project at our Google Meet! Turn in your project to Google Classroom.

PreK- Students should be able to count objects to 10. Parents can count by tens to 100. Students will explain what objects they used and try to count to 10 at the meet.
Kinder-Students can group objects by tens and skip count to 100. Students will skip count by 10's to 100 on the google meet.
First and second- You will need to tell us how you counted your items to 100. For example, "I counted to 100 by 5's."
